I've been reading this book that says that in methadone maintenance programs, addicts are given a synthetic narcotic, methadone, that prevents withdrawl symptoms (physical and psychological pain associated with giving up drugs) while addicts reduce their drug intake slowly over a period of time. However, my question is this: If methadone really takes away ALL .
